Teeth can be stained by foods, drinks, smoking and certain medications. Teeth colour can also darken with age. Teeth whitening is a safe procedure that can lighten the colour of your teeth by using a safe dental bleaching agent.
Individual results vary and are based on your initial tooth colour and the nature of your tooth staining.

The process involves taking impressions of your teeth and making you custom-made and lightweight plastic mouth trays that fit snugly over your teeth. (These are like thin gum shields). Whitening gel is then placed inside the trays and are worn for a few hours during the day.

Results are normally seen over 2-3 weeks, when your teeth should start to appear whiter and brighter. Treatment can be continued for longer if needed. The cost of upper and lower, tooth whitening course is £320, cheaper if you are on Denplan. You can also buy additional tubes of gel at the reception.
